Click here to visit the official Pooch Palace Website Do you work long hours? Does your dog or puppy spend 6 or 8 hours a day in a crate or all alone? Well if so, why not send your dog or puppy to Alpha Dog Training's Pooch Palace for a day of fun with friends?
We provide a home away from home for puppies and dogs. 365 days a year, dogs have access to a large fenced in yard area (40,000 square feet of pure running room!) with a giant 30' X 15' POOL to splash or dive in, a Remote Control Car that travels 40 mph to chase, a Tennis Ball Machine, a Bubble Machine cranking out thousands of bubbles, music (probably the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, or some hippie music if Lindsay the manager is working), and probably most importantly, the Pooch Palace has a caring, well trained staff of dog trainers and vet techs who know how to keep things fun while maintaining control and safety at the same time.
During the hot months, constant access to air conditioning is a guarantee. Water misters are located outside to cool the air and refresh the dogs while outside (and don't forget about the pool!). During the cold months, your dog will always be able to get warm. Dogs have access to 16,000 square feet of climate controlled indoor play and lounge space, all day long. So whether your dog feels like playing or taking a nap in a cozy spot, he/she will always have a great time and feel right at home. At least 10 hours of monitored socialization and playtime is a guarantee 7 days a week! The only days we are not open 10 hours are Easter, Thanksgiving, July 4, Memorial Day, and Christmas. But unlike any competitors, we are open for 7 full hours of playtime even on major holidays! Separate indoor and outdoor areas for both small and large dogs ensures that small dogs never need worry about being trampled! Overnight boarders can be confined to a large crate, mini suite, master suite, executive suite, presidential suite (no joke) or have the run of a huge room with plenty of couches and beds for everyone (provided your dog has no aggressive or destructive issues). It's up to you! On site obedience and/or problem behavior modification training is available as well. And yes, you did read that right, the Pooch Palace is over 55,000 total square feet of pure wear your dog out running room, by far the most play area of any doggy daycare/boarding facility within Mt. Pleasant or Charleston city limits. Come take a tour of the last place you will ever feel the need to tour when it comes to finding a place to care for and entertain your dog for daycare or boarding while you are out of town.
Training Basic Obedience Training
One day of obedience training does not a trained dog make, so we don't bother offering such a small amount of obedience training. However, we gladly offer obedience training one week at a time, as well as follow up lessons for you, the owner, to make sure that you know how to follow through with everything your pooch has learned. If your dog has had no previous training, at least two weeks of day care/training is highly recommended (see our Teacher's Pet programs on our training programs page, or consider the Teacher's Pet Day Care Camp program (explained at the bottom of this page). If your dog already knows his/her basic commands and simply isn't very good at them, we can get a lot accomplished in one or two weeks time. All basic commands will be included in your dog's daily training, including: sit/stay, down/stay, come, leash walking (& heel), as well as a "time out" command for situations such as answering the door and dinner time. We will also correct your dog or pup for nuisance behaviors such as housebreaking, jumping, chewing, digging and play biting.

Daycare Late Policy
This late policy is implemented to ensure that Pooch Palace employees and customers are on the same page in the event that closing time arrives and daycare dogs are still here. We obviously can not be expected to stay here indefinitely if we have not heard from a dogs owner as minutes turn into more minutes at the end of the day. Your first 5 late minutes are free, then you will be charged $1 for each minute late after that. For anyone with a daycare pass, we will not collect money from you at that time...instead we will note your account of "late points" until those points add up to what you pay for a single day of daycare. For example, if you paid $18 per day for your daycare pass, once you have accumulated 18 late minutes, we will simply deduct one day from your daycare pass. Please call us if you are running late and let us know how late you will be. If we have not received a phone call from you by 7:10 p.m., we will feed your dog(s) house food ($2 charge per dog). This may upset your dog's stomach but no dog deserves to go without eating for an entire day, which is why it is extremely important that you call us by 7:10 to let us know your plans. If we still haven't heard from you by 7:30, we will assume the dog(s) have been overlooked or that some emergency has happened and we will go ahead and kennel them for the night. This is the worst case scenario for all involved because you, the customer, end up getting charged 25 "late points" PLUS the $8 difference between our normal daycare and boarding rates, PLUS the house food charge. This results in a total charge of $35 in addition to the day already used off of your daycare pass. Please don't make us do it! Your business is greatly appreciated and we do not want to charge you more of your hard earned money than necessary, however, we have had situations where dogs have literally been forgotten and we are not sure what to do after no phone call has been received to inform us of the dog owners' situation. So at least now everyone involved knows what will happen and what to do if this situation arises. If you call and inform us that you would like us to stay past 7:30 p.m. for you to pick up your dog, it is up to whichever employee(s) working whether or not they can stay, and if they can stay, what monetary amount makes staying worth their time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about how we will handle this situation in the future, please talk to Jeff or Lindsay. Again, thank you for your business and understanding.
*Hurricane Policy
In the event of a major hurricane where evacuation is necessary, we can not take every dog with us. We are at the mercy of mother nature and we have our own animals and family members to evacuate. Please make sure that if you are leaving town during hurricane season, an emergency plan has been devised by you to ensure your dog's safety. Have a trustworth friend or relative who is aware that they are your "emergency contact" and rescuer of your dog if evacuation is necessary. Thanks!
New day care customers receive a 5 day pass for $60 ($12 per day), or a 10 day pass for $100 (only $10 per day!!)
